We are very happy to hear from the following colleagues who have spent time either training or working within Hardie Caldwell, now Hardie Caldwell LLP. Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Susan Anderson joined in 1979, moving on in 1984. After leaving Hardie Caldwell Susan worked in various Procurement Sectors - Construction, Shipping, Electronics, Local Government. She is now currently working for Central Government and specialises in ICT Procurement. In 1995 she was awarded MCIPS status which is a recognised Procurement qualification.

Ann Marie Ballantyne joined the firm in 1979, leaving in 1982 to work with JR Management Consultants where she became a partner in 1985. Having assisted in the creation of Airdire United FC in 2002, she now holds the position of Managing Director.

Alasdair Brown joined our Tax Skill Group in 2002 and worked with us until 2004. Alasdair is now working as a tax associate for Ernst & Young LLP in Corporate Tax within their Edinburgh office.

Colin Brown worked with Hardie Caldwell during 1961 and 1967. He is now retired and enjoys gardening and golfing.

Brendan Boyle joined Hardie Caldwell in July 1997, leaving in October 2000. Having moved on from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in Australia, where he was co-ordinating an operations project, Brendan founded a new consultancy company in London. The company offers advisory services to the insurance and banking sectors worldwide.

Pamela Conway trained with the firm, joining in 1992. She remained with the firm until 1995, at which time she took some time out to go backpacking in Australia. 8 years later, she is still in Australia and is currently working for a medium sized private company in Melbourne as a Financial Controller.

John Crawford was employed between September 1975 and September 1979. He is currently Chief Financial Officer & Vice President Underwriting and Administration at Pacific Blue Cross.

Paul Davis joined the firm in 1977. After leaving in December 1983, Paul spent 4 years as Corporate Internal Audit Manager with Johnson & Johnson Inc, reviewing worldwide operations. After then taking a year out to obtain an MBA, Paul joined the Danish support services group ISS a/s, first as Financial Controller, Europe for 5 years, followed by 5 years as Finance Director, Asia Pacific, based in Kuala Lumpur. Currently, Paul is back in London as Group Commercial Director for Johnson Service Group Plc.

Andrea Gannon joined Hardie Caldwell in 1998 as a graduate CA student. She left in September 2002 to join PWC in Bermuda within the Assurance and Business Advisory Services division. She was promoted to Manager in 2004 and is currently working as an Assistant Financial Controller at Old Mutual plc in Bermuda.

Niall McColl worked with Hardie Caldwell from August 1988 until December 1991. After leaving our firm Niall spent 6 years with Argyll and Bute Council. His final role there was one of Principal Accountant in the Finance Department. He now works for Oracle Corporation UK Ltd, based in Edinburgh within Applications Support as a Senior Consultant.

Graeme McDonald worked with us from February 1996 until April 2002. Graeme is currently working with Glasgow Investment Managers as an Accountant.

Scott McKenzie joined the firm in 2000 and left in 2005 to join the Scottish Qualifications Authority. He started as Senior Financial Accountant and is currently covering as Financial Accounting Manager.
Craig Menzies joined the firm in 1999 and worked with us for five years until 2004. Craig left to join Ernst & Young as a Corporate Tax Adviser, working within the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Richard Patterson was employed at our firm from 1989 until 1996. He has maintained a contact with the firm since then and is currently a general practice partner with Campbell Dallas CA, a leading Scottish independent.

Alastair Scott joined us in July 1994 for a period of 4 years, before taking on a senior management role with John Dewar & Sons, the whisky division of Bacardi-Martini. Left in 2006 to undertake an MSc in Information Technology at Glasgow University with the intention of moving into business and IT Consultancy.

David Stoll worked with our firm from September 1978 until May 1983 when he relocated to South Africa. David spent 6 years in auditing profession in Johannesburg before joining Investec as Financial Director of the Property Group. Now in Cape Town, David is currently regional property manager for the Western Cape with a portfolio in excess of 70 properties.

Constantinos Taliotis joined in 1992 and worked with the firm for four years. He is now a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers based in Cyprus.

Caroline Wilson joined the firm in 1992 and worked with us until 1999. She is now working as a Pension Fund Accountant for Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

Lorna Wyllie joined Hardie Caldwell in 1996 and remained for 3 years before moving on. Lorna progressed from Business Services Manager to become a Partner at Wylie & Bisset.

Doug Sawers worked with our firm from 1982 to 1985. After moving on he joined Hertz in 1986, during his nine years at Hertz he held a variety of positions including UK Financial Director. He then moved on to become Managing Director of Budget, Managing Director of Holiday Autos and also Managing Director of Group Operations at lastminute.com. He is now running HR outsourcer Ceridian, based in Reading where he is the Managing Director. Doug is married and has two daughters. He still enjoys travelling back to Glasgow as Ceridian has an office there.
